PipeTally Privacy Policy

Effective August 24, 2026

1. What data we collect

At registration:

Email address and password (stored encrypted — we never store your password in plain text);
When signing in with Google — email, name, and a unique Google account identifier (no password);
Organization name (if provided, otherwise generated automatically).

While using the app:

Photos you upload for pipe counting;
Credit balance, promo code, and purchase information (no card data — payments are processed by Google Play, your card number is never sent to or stored by us);
Technical request data (IP address, request time) — in standard server logs, for troubleshooting;
Advertising ID — used to show ads through Google AdMob.

2. What we do NOT do with your photos

Uploaded photos are sent for processing (pipe recognition) and are not stored on our servers after processing. The count result and the annotated photo remain only on your device (the "History" section of the app) — we do not have access to them and do not store them ourselves.

3. How data is used

To operate the app's features (registration, sign-in, pipe counting, purchase history);
To send emails — a welcome email after registration, password-reset codes;
To credit bonuses from promo codes and the referral program.

We do not sell your data. The advertising ID is shared with Google AdMob to show ads within the app — see section 4 for details.

4. Third-party services that process data

Google Sign-In — when signing in with a Google account;
Google Play — processes payments for cloud processing credits;
Google AdMob — shows ads within the app; uses the advertising ID to personalize ads. AdMob policy: policies.google.com/technologies/ads;
Railway — hosts our backend and database;
RunPod — processes photos (recognition) — temporarily, without persistent storage;
Resend — sends emails.

Each of these services has its own privacy policy and processes data only to the extent needed to provide its service.

5. Data retention and deletion

Account data is retained while the account is active. To request deletion of your account and related data, contact the address below — we will delete your data within a reasonable time, except information we are required to retain by law (for example, payment records).

6. User age

The app is not intended for individuals under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children under this age.

7. Security

Passwords are stored hashed (irreversible encryption). The connection between the app and our server is protected via HTTPS.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The current version is always available at this address.
